The view from near the top of Anderson Pass. It really is as steep as it looks. .
Approaching the top of Anderson Pass.
View of Henry's Fork basin from the top of Anderson Pass. Our campsite is just inside the trees in the center of the picture.

Scott & Peter standing on the top of Utah. Kings Peak 13,528 ft. We reached the summit at 8:50am, less than 3 hrs. after leaving camp.
Jim on the summit. The temperature was in the 30's with a light breeze. We had cloud cover, but it was too early in the day to worry about storms.
Scott Dwyer on the summit.
Peter Junger on summit
View from the summit, looking to the north. Lots of craggy cliffs. When you see these mountains up close, it's obvious they are just falling to pieces.
The west side of Kings Peak drops off vertically; there's plenty of exposure when you get close to this side of the peak.

We celebrated, took some photos, made some phone calls and got the heck off the summit as it was cold. On the way down we had to cross a few snow fields, which was a treat.

Back at the trailhead on Saturday. It took us about 2 hrs to reach camp. There we took a break, got some lunch and relaxed for a while. Then it was 4.5 hrs. to hike out back to the trailhead. It was a long day, about 18 miles total.
